American Indian Scholarships are specifically geared towards helping American Indians attend colleges and universities in efforts to achieve the career of their dreams. Of course, as you may have guessed in order to be eligible for these scholarships you will have to be of American Indian decent. There are several different types of American Indian Scholarships available. To determine which meets your needs and have eligibility requirements that you can easily satisfy the first place you should start is the internet. The internet is a wonderful tool for conducting research on the various different types of American Indian scholarships that may be available to you. You can also use the internet to compare scholarships, research the requirements, and get a better understanding of what might be required of you before applying for any of the many American Indian Scholarships. We have done a little research for you to get you started. The following are a few of the different American Indian scholarships we found on the internet. You will find that each scholarship holds its own set of eligibility requirements, as well as different scholarship amounts, and any other specifics that may apply to that particular scholarship. One such scholarship is a scholarship offered by the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. This program offers scholarships of $2,000 to graduate students, as well as $1,000 to undergraduate students. It carries a deadline of July 1st, each year, and is available to American Indians that are attending a four year college or a two year college with the intentions of transferring to a four year college. Students must be attending the college full time, as well as be a member of the society. You must also be able to provide proof of your enrollment in a tribe, as well as studying in the fields of science, math, business, natural resources, engineering science, or health science. For Indian Pueblos students from Santa Ana, Sandia, Jemez, and Cochiti, the All Indian Pueblo Council Scholarship grant program offers various amounts for scholarships if you meet a variety of eligibility requirements. Some requirements include an admission letter written by an accredited university or college, two recommendation letters, a certificate proving you are in fact a blood Indian, tribal verification certificate, and you must prove yourself eligible to receive the FPG ( Federal Pell Grant) to show you are in financial need of the American Indian Scholarships. This scholarship is also only used as a last resort, you must provide proof that you have exhausted all other options. These are just two of the many American Indian Scholarships available. It is important that you investigate all of your options and do as much research as possible to ensure that the scholarships carry what you need to experience a higher education, as well as that you meet all outlined eligibility requirements.
