Cosmetology Scholarships
The world of cosmetology is a vast and exciting one. Through cosmetology you have the distinct pleasure of making a difference in the life of one person, as well as the many that may cross your path in your career as a cosmetologist. Regardless of which of the many areas you choose to study in cosmetology, you will serve as not only a person that beautifies the world, but many people see their cosmetologist as a confidant and friend. If you are interested in the world of cosmetology, but you simply are not sure if you can afford such a venture, you might want to consider cosmetology scholarships.
There are many cosmetology scholarships available and you may find them readily available at your local cosmetology school. Through cosmetology you have the opportunity to show your creative side, create new styles, take the lead in the latest trends in fashion, and literally make a difference in the lives of many. A cosmetologist makes an average of $32,000 yearly and you have the opportunity to take advantage of more than three million dollars in cosmetology scholarships that are available.
Some scholarships include those sponsored by the AACS (American Association of Cosmetology Schools). Some of these cosmetology scholarships include the $1,000 scholarship offered by Farouk Systems USA. In order to be eligible for this scholarship you must be attending a school that is a member of the AACS, be half-way through schooling, maintained an attendance rate of no less than eighty percent, have a B average, graduate on the date designated, and have a financial need.
The $1,000 Clairol Professional scholarship is awarded to six students that attends a school that is a member of the AACS and take part in the Clairol Program. To be eligible you must show hair color proficiency, want to pursue a colorist career, have a B average, and maintain eighty-five percent attendance.
The $1,000 NCEA Esthetician scholarship program is available to students attending a school that is a member of the AACS, show financial need, good performance, and attend a training program for esthetician only. Along with these requirements, you must submit a short essay about your desire for the scholarship, why you need it, and your financial situation. You must also maintain a specific grade average, as well as attendance average.
These are just a few of the many cosmetology scholarships available to those wishing to pursue a career in cosmetology. The internet can be a great tool for researching the different scholarships available and understanding the eligibility requirements of each.
