Short people scholarships
While there is not much information available for research on the topic of short people scholarships, there is one thing for sure they do exist. The information is not readily available to any person just searching on the topic, however, short people scholarships can be found with the Little People of America. The LPA (Little People of America) is a information and support organization for little people and their family members.
The short people scholarships are given to those students attending college who meet specific requirements. In order to receive this scholarship, the student must fall under the definition of dwarfism. Dwarfism, as defined by the LPA, is a genetic or medical condition that results in a maximum height of shorter than 4’11”, at adulthood. When it comes to the Americans with Disability Act, dwarfism is considered a disability.
However, even though technically considered a disability, primarily because some forms of the condition does create some health problems; short people can be perfectly healthy and look into furthering their education. This is the sole reason that short people scholarships exist. No matter a person’s height or stature, everyone should have the ability to attend college and these scholarships helps ensure that short people can take advantage of a higher learning opportunity.
Again, short people scholarships are not widely advertise, which leaves many questions about how to obtain the scholarship and the exact requirements. With the LPA, it is clear that in order to become a scholarship recipient, you must be at most 4’10” tall or less. If you are a short person, wishing to attend any college, but are in financial need, you should speak to the college financial advisor for more information and recommendations.
In general, these advisors have access to thousands of scholarship opportunities that are not really well known to the general population. Short people scholarships are just one part of the many very specific scholarships available in the world. There are many other very specific scholarships such as scholarships for men, from Alaska, studying a specific subject. There are also scholarships for serious women, but those who are not too serious. The list of specific scholarships keeps on expanding to include scholarships for left-handed people, people with blue eyes, and people studying specific subjects or careers.
The fact of the matter remains that no matter if you are looking for short people scholarships or tall people scholarships, there are so many different specific scholarships available out there, that any person regardless of what they look like or plan to study can find aid in attending the college of their choice.
